Frontiers in Control Engineering publishes high quality fundamental and applied research across all aspects of Control Engineering. Control Engineering encompasses all aspects of control systems that play a fundamental role in the automation and regulation of all engineering processes. Control Engineering plays a role in modern science and engineering and this interdisciplinary forum solicits advances in areas, including but not limited to:
• Control and Automation Systems
• Adaptive, Robust and Fault Tolerant Control
• Nonlinear Control
• Control Theory 4.0
• Networked Control
• Mathematical System Theory
• Control Applications
• Real-time control
• Control applications (industrial processes, mechatronic systems, biomedical systems, etc.)
All contributions must provide insights into control engineering, either from a fundamental or applications-oriented side. Papers not related to control engineering are out of the scope of this journal. Authors should also note that papers related to other practically relevant topics may better fit with our other Frontiers journals.

The specialty sections of Frontiers in Control Engineering welcome submission of the following article types: Code, Correction, Data Report, Editorial, Hypothesis and Theory, Methods, Mini Review, Original Research, Perspective, Review, Systematic Review and Technology Report.
When submitting a manuscript to Frontiers in Control Engineering, authors must submit the material directly to one of the specialty sections. Manuscripts are peer-reviewed by the Associate and Review Editors of the respective specialty section.
